HISTORY LESSONS
In ancient times, it was said that there were only two clans. The Ones of the Night, and The Followers of the Stars. The Night were born from the very essencnse of the darkness. They were bred from all things of evil: hate, vengence, anger, betrayal, murder, ect. They thrived off of eachother's pain, sorrow, their feelings of remorse and regret. They fed off it. The clan was a troubled one, and had a new leader almost every new moon, which in turn led to such chaos, that many kits wouldn't survive past infancy. Their numbers dwindled drastically, as many of the more peacful of the clan sought homes where no such rivalry existed. One of said cats left in the early days of the civil war of the Night. He traveled far, far away from the turmoil. After months of time had passed, and he could feel his life leaving him, he stumbled upon a stone. A stone that glowed in the moonlight, under the vast, starry skies. Exhausted and worn, he curled up against the rock and slept. A deep, filling sleep. And as he slept, he had the most peculiar dream. He drempt of a she-cat. She was a deep midnight blue, speckled with white and nearly transparent. She spoke of the trouble rising to the west. She spoke of the uncharted lands to the east, and of victory yet to come.
When he woke he found his energy and health restored. He left the cave in wonder of it, forming the clan of the Stars, after the strange she-cat in his dream. They were all his descendants and the she-cat had lowered his age as well so that he was able to make his clan.
In the future there was a war that lead to the two clans separating into four, so as to create peace between the original two. These clans were Deception, Secretive, Cold, and Frozen. Night and Star became their ancestors which traveled the skies. Often the ancestor spirits would gather and send a dream of guidance to a leader of any of the four clans. Deception represented shadow, darkness. These were the darkest and cruelest of the clans. Cold represented the moors and swampy plains. They were neither the greatest nor the most evil. They were in between, yet had strength within themselves. Secretive were of the forest, choosing to keep to themselves. No one knew much of them, whether they were good, evil, neutral... however when the time came they proved great. Frozen were of the waters, a clan made up of the cats who had the best hearts, despite the evils behind them. Despite what had happened before these clans would not forever live in harmony remembering their ancestors. Even in death their ancestors were set against eachother and plotted how to use their descendants to their advantage. Dreams were sent prophecying greatness and victory to each clan. But none of the four clans knew the darkness that lay before them. Twisted by the dreams they soon rose to war amongst themselves, each clan expecting their ancestors to strengthen them to rise above the others.
When the war would end - no one yet knew. Who would rise? Who would fall? Or would each clan perrish in their own foolish pride?
